Teen Leadership Program

Your Teen’s Journey from Senior Ramot to Staff

At Beber Camp, summers aren’t just unforgettable, they’re life-changing. The Teen Leadership Program is the next step in your camper’s Beber journey: an application based, two-year experience for rising 11th and 12th graders designed to develop confident, values-driven leaders.

Building on their time as Senior Ramot campers, participants take on new challenges and responsibilities, gaining real-world leadership skills, growing in independence, and preparing to step into future staff roles within the Beber community and beyond.

Through hands-on learning, dedicated mentorship, and meaningful responsibility, teens learn to lead their peers, support younger campers, and make a genuine impact on camp life. Along the way, they deepen their Jewish identity, strengthen their sense of purpose, and build friendships that last a lifetime.

Why Choose the Teen Leadership Program?

Because this is more than just a summer, it’s an investment in your teen’s future. Every aspect of TLP is designed to challenge, inspire, and support growth, while delivering the magic of Beber Camp.

Here’s what sets the TLP experience apart:

  • Real Leadership Development: Teens don’t just learn about leadership; they practice it daily. Through mentorship, hands-on experiences, and increasing responsibility, participants gain the confidence to lead and make meaningful decisions.
  • A Proven Pathway to Staff: TLP is the stepping stone to Beber Camp leadership roles, preparing teens to step into staff positions with confidence.
  • Growth in Independence & Responsibility: Living, learning, and leading in a supportive camp environment builds resilience, accountability, and maturity, all skills that translate to school, university, and beyond.
  • Deepened Jewish Identity & Values: TLP strengthens connection to community, tradition, and Jewish life through lived experiences, reflection, and practice.
  • Unforgettable Experiences: From immersive camp programming to the optional Israel trip and impactful Colorado internship, TLP provides experiences teens will never forget.
  • A Community That Lasts: Participants join a close-knit cohort, forming friendships that endure long after summer ends.

Pioneer Program & Israel Experience (Year 1)
The Pioneer Program marks the beginning of the TLP journey, offering teens a powerful introduction to leadership, identity, and community. In the first session, participants build teamwork, communication, resilience, and confidence through dynamic, experiential leadership activities and challenges designed to stretch and inspire them. Every experience is rooted in the five core Pioneer curriculum pillars:

Courage (Ometz Lev / עֹמֶץ לֵב)
Leadership (Manhigut / מנהיגות)
Sacred Community (Kehillah Kedosha / קהילה קדושה)
Gratitude (Hakarat Hatov / הכרת הטוב)
Love of Israel (Ahavat Yisrael / אהבת ישראל)

In the second session, Pioneers take their learning beyond camp through a transformative three-week immersive trip to Israel. This experience deepens their connection to Jewish identity, fosters independence, and brings their leadership skills to life in a meaningful and unforgettable way.

More information about future Beber Camp Israel trips will be released following Summer 2026.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program (Year 2)
The CIT summer is where leadership becomes a reality. Building on their Pioneer experience, teens step into meaningful responsibility, receiving advanced training in The Beber Philosophy, Childcare, Programming, and Jewish life. Through hands-on internships in programming, cabins, and the Colorado internship, CITs explore different areas of camp, gaining a clearer sense of where they thrive and how they may see themselves as future leaders within the community. Every experience is rooted in five core CIT curriculum pillars:

The Beber Philosophy (Derech Shel Beber / דרך של בבר)
Child Care (Tiful V’Yeladim / טיפול וילדים)
Programming (Tochnit / תכנית)
Values and Connection (Midot V’Kesher / מידות וקשר)
Personal Growth & Professionalism (Hitpatchut Ishit VeDerech / התפתחות אישית ודרך ארץ)

In the second session, CITs bring their training to life by working directly with campers. Living in bunks alongside campers and staff, they take on real responsibility, applying their skills in a supportive environment while learning what it truly means to be a role model.

The summer also includes a Colorado internship, offering valuable experience beyond the Beber environment. This immersive opportunity fosters independence, empathy, and confidence as CITs work with campers at partner camps, experience Shabbat in a different Jewish community, and take part in a shared rafting adventure, creating memories and skills that last a lifetime.
