Meet the Cornerstone Fellows for Summer 2026

We’re proud to introduce our Beber Cornerstone Fellows for Summer 2026. This group of returning staff members brings leadership, heart, and a deep commitment to Jewish life at camp.

This summer’s Fellows are:

  • Laila Bilsky
  • Zoe Josefson
  • Naomi Meyers
  • Ava Muriel
  • Maddie Rosengard
  • Lily Weinstein

What Is the Cornerstone Fellowship?

The Cornerstone Fellowship is a nationally recognized leadership program through Foundation for Jewish Camp, designed for experienced Jewish camp staff who play a meaningful role in shaping Jewish life at camp.

As Cornerstone Fellows, these staff members participate in a national retreat with peers from Jewish camps across North America, where they explore best practices for:

  • Leading meaningful evening and Shabbat programs
  • Creating engaging Jewish rituals and traditions
  • Facilitating thoughtful conversations
  • Israeli dancing, Mischpachot, and community-building experiences

The goal of Cornerstone is simple but powerful: to help camps strengthen Jewish life by investing in thoughtful, skilled, and passionate young leaders.

Cornerstone at Beber

At Beber Camp, our Cornerstone Fellows are not only leaders in Jewish life, they are camp leaders, period.

In addition to serving as cabin counselors and working in various program areas, Fellows commit extra time and intention to supporting and enriching Jewish experiences throughout the summer. Their presence helps ensure that Jewish life at Beber feels authentic, joyful, inclusive, and woven naturally into everyday camp life.

This fellowship is both an honor and a responsibility, and we’re incredibly proud of the way these staff members continue to grow as leaders while making a meaningful impact on our campers and community. Mazel Tov to our Beber Cornerstone Fellows for Summer 2026!

Why Cornerstone Matters to Me

Laila

As an incoming Cornerstone Fellow, I am really looking forward to being a more involved part of the programming and Jewish Life this summer. Getting this leadership opportunity allows me to learn and grow as a leader, and spread the knowledge throughout camp. I remember looking up to the Cornerstone Fellows as a camper and aspiring to make a similar imprint on the Jewish community at camp.

Zoe

I am most looking forward to leading our community in the traditions that make camp feel like home while also helping introduce new ideas and programs. I can’t wait to build connections with campers and staff and to help create moments they will remember long after the summer ends.

Ava

This summer, I’m most looking forward to creating new Shabbat activities with the other fellows and possibly bringing back old traditions. This leadership opportunity is so important to me because it will allow me to help campers discover their Jewish identities, which was one of the most memorable parts of my own time at Beber.

Maddie

I am looking forward to the Cornerstone Fellowship this summer because it's something I have been interested in joining since I was a camper and getting more involved in the Jewish life at camp. This leadership opportunity is important to me because I want to work in camps for my career and I am very passionate about making camp a place where it's not just for fun, but getting the most out of the experience.

Lily

As a cornerstone fellow, I am most looking forward to stepping into a leadership role where I can be more involved, especially within Jewish life at camp. This opportunity is so important to me because, as a camper, I always looked forward to and loved the Cornerstone and Jewish life programs we participated in, and now I get to lead them!

Naomi

I am most looking forward to meeting staff from other Jewish camps and learning about their unique camp cultures and Jewish traditions. I’m excited to share ideas, hear different perspectives, and bring new traditions and approaches back to Beber to help strengthen our community. This leadership opportunity is incredibly important to me because it allows me to actively contribute to the Jewish community at Beber—something that is deeply special and sacred to camp. As a Cornerstone Fellow, I will have the chance to grow as a leader while helping foster meaningful Jewish experiences, connections, and traditions that enhance camp for both campers and staff.
