Forever
It's you and me
Moving at the speed of light into eternity, yeah
Tonight is the night
Feel the melody and the rhythm of the music
Around you, around you
It's like I waited my whole life for this one night
It's gon' be me, you, and the dance floor
'Cause we only got one night
Double your pleasure, double your fun
And dance forever, ever, ever
Forever, ever, ever
Forever, ever, ever
Forever (forever)
Forever on the dance floor
What a bittersweet day! Today marks the conclusion of our session's regular activities, and it's hard to believe we'll be saying goodbye in just over 24 hours. Time flew by as we kept ourselves busy with countless enjoyable moments.
Our day began with the final round of cabin activities and hobbies. Campers enjoyed their last rides on the ski boats, scaled the climbing wall, and got creative with arts and crafts. It was fantastic to see campers bonding with their hobby friends, playing games, making bracelets, sharing stories, and cherishing these final moments with their leaders. I'm so fortunate to have spent a lot of time with campers, and I even got to drive a ski boat a few times and play a lot of basketball and ultimate frisbee. Several campers told me they were able to slalom, which is quite an accomplishment! We are having so much fun.
Meals:
Breakfast: French Toast
Lunch: Chicken Nuggets
Dinner: Pasta Banquet Special with Salmon and Mozzarella sticks
This afternoon, our CIT Aleph group celebrated their graduation with a memorable ceremony, officially completing their summers as campers. They worked so hard this session and were an integral part of our summer's success. Their campers love them, and their co-counselors truly appreciated their fresh energy and support in the bunk. We know they will make excellent staff members next summer!
After wrapping up our hobbies, everyone freshened up and dressed up for our annual banquet. The night began with mocktails on the Island, where campers mingled, took photos, and enjoyed snacks and fizzy drinks to the beat of some tunes all supporting the banquet theme of “BEBER @ 50”! It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up and our hobby teams proudly wearing their team shirts, which were decorated with iconic memories from the summer.
Following the social hour, campers headed to the dining hall for a special dinner. The meal featured a pasta bar with marinara and garlic butter sauces, various types of pasta, pesto pasta, garlic rolls, and sautéed veggies. We also had fried rice and salmon, which were brought back from our 3-day fishing trips. Campers enjoyed pop with their meal and delicious slices of assorted pies for dessert.
The dining hall was transformed to fit the theme of Beber’s 50th Anniversary, “Beber @ 50.”
A huge thank you to our incredible kitchen team, led by Abdiel and Chuck, who work so hard to make sure our campers are well-fed. And another shoutout to our creative program team, who work together all summer to facilitate these amazing all-camp programs.
After dinner, each division held a closing program where campers wrote heartfelt bus notes, took polaroid snapshots to celebrate their bonds, and reflected on their summer experiences. These moments were a poignant reminder of how much they've grown and connected since opening day.
- Makor gathered on the tennis courts to write letters to each other, a special "letters from the crew" activity.
- Kesher held a "KartoonNetwork" awards ceremony on the Island.
- Ramot organized a "tip jar" activity at the basketball courts.
Each closing program was incredibly meaningful and embodied the unique spirit of its division. As I walked around, I was in awe of how seriously the campers took these final moments. They truly wanted to cherish their last time together as a division, closing out the summer in a proper way.
During this final program, there was a bittersweet feeling in the air. We were sad that our time together was coming to an end, but we also felt a deep sense of gratitude for the experiences, friendships, and connections we've formed throughout the summer.
Later in the evening, all the divisions enjoyed a DJ'd dance with contests, plenty of singing, and energetic dancing. A special shout-out to Arianna Rozen and her team from Vibe for their exceptional performance during the Makor/Kesher and Ramot dances! They added so much excitement to our end-of-session festivities.
Campers sang at the top of their lungs and danced their hearts out to their favorite camp songs with their best friends. If you're looking for entertainment for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Arianna and her team are exceptional. All the campers had an amazing time.
What an incredible final day, from our last hobbies and a special banquet to a dance party that brought everyone together. The energy tonight was electric, a perfect celebration of the bonds we’ve formed. As we danced and sang along to our favorite songs, it felt like we wanted to "dance forever, ever, ever," just like “Forever” says. This session may be ending, but the memories, friendships, and joy we’ve shared will stay with us forever, carrying us forward until we meet again on the shores of Lake Beulah.
P.S. Congratulations to the following who knew that Semisonic sang "Closing Time.”
- Chris Mural
- Stacy Levy
P.S. - Today’s question: Who sang the song "“Forever?” Email your answer to trivia@bebercamp.com for a shoutout in tomorrow’s final blog of the summer!
