The heat is on
The heat is on
The heat is on
Oh, it's on the street
The heat is...on

There is something special about Beber that brings out the best in people. I have been noticing a Beber Belief of ours a lot lately–Kindness & Gratitude. Every day, I see acts of kindness that may be small but make an impact, whether it’s campers helping each other clean up after a meal, TLP campers encouraging younger campers to try something new, or staff members going the extra mile to make sure every camper feels seen and included. These remind me that camp is about so much more than games and adventures. It is a place where friendships grow, confidence builds, and compassion is part of everyday life.

Gratitude has also been shining in many ways this session. I’ve heard campers thank our kitchen staff for serving them food, friends for sharing laughter and fun, and our counselors for everything they do. A simple “thank you” carries so much meaning, and it is always so wonderful to watch our camp community recognize and appreciate one another. These moments of gratitude help create the welcoming, supportive environment that makes camp a home away from home.

Tonight, we had an incredible evening program: the all-camp talent show! What makes the talent show so memorable isn't just the performances–it's the encouragement from the audience. Every camper who steps on stage to dance, sing, speak, or act is met with cheers and support, making it a celebration of confidence, creativity, and the willingness to try something new. It's one of those camp traditions that reminds us how uplifting it is to celebrate each other's talents, and I am so proud of all of this year’s performers! If you’d like to see some clips of the show tonight, head over to our Instagram page to watch the stories.

As we celebrate these meaningful connections, we're also looking ahead to one of the most exciting parts of the summer. Tomorrow, our Kesher and Ramot three-day trips head out on their adventures! Campers have been eagerly counting down the days, packing their gear, and talking nonstop about everything they're looking forward to experiencing.

With the forecast calling for several warm, sunny days, we've spent extra time making sure every trip is well prepared. Each camper is traveling with multiple water bottles, and every group is bringing powdered Gatorade to mix into large water containers throughout the day. All of our campsites have water refill stations, easy access to ice for coolers, plenty of shade through shelters or pop-up canopies, and either a pool or designated swimming area where campers can cool off. Even at night, our staff remind campers to open tent windows for cross-ventilation to help everyone stay comfortable. Back at camp today, we also embraced the heat by setting up sprinklers at the farm and beach volleyball, giving campers a fun way to cool off while still enjoying their hobbies. Keeping campers safe, healthy, and having fun always goes hand in hand.

Whether campers are exploring Wisconsin’s biking trails, fishing on Lake Michigan, or making unforgettable memories around the campfire, these trips are always a highlight of the summer. They offer opportunities to build independence, strengthen friendships, and create stories that campers will be sharing long after they return home. We can't wait to see all the adventures unfold and wish everyone safe travels, great weather, and an incredible experience. Stay tuned–we'll be sharing updates and photos as our groups return with plenty of stories to tell!

While Kesher and Ramot head out of town for the next few days, our Makor and TLP campers will stay at camp for their own special adventure–Makor Mania! Instead of packing backpacks and hitting the road, they'll enjoy a few incredible days filled with creative games, bonding activities, and plenty of opportunities to simply have fun together here at camp. Our Makor campers will also go on their overnighter, a one-day overnight camping trip here on our beautiful Beber grounds. These next few days are sure to be just as exciting for our Makor and TLP campers as for our campers going on three-day trips! I can't wait to see everyone embrace these incredible experiences, grow closer as a kehilah kedoshah, and create stories they'll be sharing for the rest of the summer.

Peace, Love, 3BC,
Michael
