Dancing in the Moonlight
Dancing in the moonlight
Everybody’s feeling warm and bright
It’s such a fine and natural sight
Everybody’s dancing in the moonlight
What a day it’s been—bittersweet in the best way. Today brought our first session’s regular activities to a close, and it’s hard to wrap our heads around the fact that goodbyes are just over 24 hours away. Time has flown, filled with laughter, memories, and so many unforgettable moments.

The morning began with the final round of cabin activities and hobbies. Campers took full advantage of their last rides on the ski boats, made it to the top of the climbing wall, and immersed themselves in arts and crafts. There was such joyful energy as friends made bracelets, shared stories, played games, and enjoyed every last minute with their hobby groups. I’ve been incredibly lucky to spend so much time with the campers—we’ve had a blast together.
At lunch, our campers celebrating their fifth and tenth summers had the opportunity to make their plaques that will hang on the wall of the dining hall as a commemoration of their milestone. The plaques were carefully constructed and the smiles on their faces as they turned them in was priceless.
Once hobbies wrapped up, everyone got cleaned up and dressed to impress for the evening's banquet festivities. The celebration kicked off with Mocktails on the Island, where campers snapped photos with their friends, danced to upbeat music, and sipped on colorful, fizzy drinks—all while embracing the “There’s No Place Like Home” Wicked-themed Banquet. It was especially heartwarming to see our Ramot campers in their matching shirts and our CITs and PIOs proudly wearing their signature summer t-shirts.
After the Mocktails, everyone headed to the dining hall for a truly special meal. Campers were treated to a pasta bar complete with marinara, pesto, and garlic butter sauces, a variety of pasta shapes, pesto pasta, sautéed veggies, salmon, garlic rolls, and an assortment of pies for dessert. The whole experience was elevated by the incredible transformation of the dining hall—pink and green decorations, Wicked and Wizard of Oz-themed backdrops, ruby slippers, black pointy hats, and even the striped tights of the Wicked Witch of the East. A huge shout-out to Abdiel, Chuck, and our outstanding kitchen team who always go above and beyond to keep everyone happy and well-fed.
Following dinner, each division gathered for a closing program that gave space for reflection and celebration. Campers wrote thoughtful bus notes, decorated large posters to capture their memories, and released beautiful lanterns over Lake Beulah. These heartfelt moments were full of reflection, gratitude, and the quiet realization of just how far everyone has come since day one. There was a real mix of emotions—sadness that the session is ending, but so much appreciation for the friendships formed and the growth each camper experienced.

The night kept going with an epic dance party, DJ’d and filled with energy, song contests, and nonstop movement. A special thank you to Arianna Rozen and her team from Vibe, whose amazing performances made the Makor/Kesher and Ramot/TLP dances extra special. Anyone planning a B’nai Mitzvah should absolutely consider them—they brought so much life to the party, and the campers couldn’t get enough.
Some bunks even stretched the fun into late-night adventures, soaking up every last bit of time together. It was a perfect ending to a phenomenal day and a meaningful celebration of everything this session has been. Tomorrow brings Beber Fest, and I can’t wait to share all about it in the next blog.
Peace, Love, 3BC
