Dreams

Oh, thunder only happens when it's rainin'
Players only love you when they're playin'
Say women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know
You'll know

Today was an awesome day for our Makor, Kesher, and Ramot campers as we ventured back to the Wisconsin Dells for our annual Waterpark Day! The weather was a bit colder, so we made sure they packed sweatshirts for their ride back tonight. Despite the chill, everyone had a great time and will surely rest well to prepare for our first Shabbat of second session tomorrow.

After a hearty breakfast of turnovers and scrambled eggs, Makor campers grabbed a bagged lunch, while our Kesher and Ramot campers enjoyed bagged lunches they prepared themselves yesterday (sandwiches, fruit and chips). They then hit the road for some exciting off-camp adventures!

  • Makor, Ramot, and the CITs headed to Mt. Olympus, enjoying a perfect mix of thrilling water rides and exhilarating roller coasters suited for their age groups.
  • Kesher dove into the thrills of Noah's Ark, experiencing everything from refreshing wave pools to epic slides.

For their waterpark adventures, each cabin was divided into smaller groups of friends, with every group supervised by a counselor. Leadership team members rotated among check-in points to address any camper needs, and a nurse accompanied each waterpark group to handle any medical issues.

After a day packed with fun and adventure, campers enjoyed a pizza dinner before heading back to camp. They returned bursting with excitement and full of tales about the rides they conquered! Some came back running, eager to share about the one slide they went on five times with their friends, while others, including our Yad campers, spent the day go-karting.

The Wisconsin Dells, known as the "Waterpark Capital of the World," was the perfect spot for today's adventure! Its unique mix of thrilling water attractions, amusement park rides, and incredible landscapes made it an ideal place for our campers to create some truly unforgettable memories.

A little bit of cold weather never stopped our campers from having a blast, especially when it comes to waterparks! They still ventured out, went on all the rides and slides they wanted, and enjoyed the company of their best buddies.

I have some great memories as a camper myself. One time, when it rained at Mt. Olympus, all of Ramot gathered under a covered area with tables for pizza. We had the best time, laughing, taking photos with our cameras, and playing card games before dinner. The rain actually turned out to be a wonderful thing, bringing us all closer together!

Our PIOs are back from their exciting three-day trip to the Indiana Dunes! They had so many fun experiences to share and managed to pack a lot into their adventure. Their trip included hiking, exploring, cooking over a fire, and, of course, plenty of bonding as a group.

I think this trip was a fantastic way for them to kick off Second Session, helping them grow even closer and setting them up for a great final few weeks together as PIOs!

"Dreams" reminds us that sometimes even in the face of changing weather, you still "go your own way" and embrace the moment. Today, despite the cooler temperatures, our campers did just that—diving headfirst into the thrills of the Dells, conquering rides, and forging deeper bonds. From the joy of waterparks to the adventures of the Indiana Dunes, every experience here at Beber is a dream unfolding. These shared moments, big and small, are what truly make our camp experience unforgettable, building memories that will last a lifetime.
