We're All In This Together

We're all in this together
Once we know
That we are
We're all stars
And we see that
We're all in this together
And it shows
When we stand
Hand in hand
Make our dreams come true

We've just wrapped up an incredible Operational Staff Week, and what a whirlwind it has been! For the past 10 days, our dedicated teams have been working tirelessly to open camp and ensure everything is in tip-top shape for the summer.

Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Kitchen Teams Rock!

  • Kitchen Crew: Our amazing kitchen team has been cleaning, stocking up on food, and learning the ins and outs of serving 500 people at a time. It's no small feat, but they’ve handled it with great skill and enthusiasm.
  • Maintenance Team: From putting boats in the water to weeding, mulching, and even changing batteries in smoke detectors, our maintenance crew has done it all. Their hard work keeps our camp looking beautiful and running smoothly.
  • Housekeeping Team: Dusting off cobwebs, sanitizing mattresses, and preparing cabins—our housekeeping team has been busy getting every nook and cranny of camp ready for our campers' arrival.

Many of our operational staff hail from Mexico, bringing with them a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange. It's been enriching to learn from one another and share our diverse backgrounds.

In the evenings, we've enjoyed fun programs like "Minute to Win It," a shopping trip to WalMart, cozy campfires, and a spirited Shabbat celebration complete with Israeli dancing. The weather has had its ups and downs, but overall, it’s been pretty cooperative.

Today, our hardworking operations team is enjoying a well-deserved day off, with many taking the opportunity to visit Madison.

Later today, we will welcome over 60 new staff members as we kick off Leadership Training Week. This includes lifeguard training, challenge course training, and much more. The energy and excitement are palpable as we prepare for an unforgettable summer.

Don't forget, this year our blog is moving to the new updated Beber Camp website! You can catch new posts at 10:00 am daily once the summer begins along with photos. Make sure to take advantage of the Campanion app to stay connected. To get started with the app, follow these simple steps:

  • Download the Campanion app here.
  • Use your CampInTouch Account email address and password to log in
  • Upload a training photo of your child, which enables the app to send you photos of your camper over the summer
  • Ensure you have push notification enabled within your phone settings so you can receive important updates from camp all summer long!

Congrats to Dan R and Chana who answered correctly that Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions (also Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart) sang People Get Ready.  Email trivia@bebercamp.com if you know who sang the song referenced in my title.

Here's to a fantastic summer at Beber Camp!
