“Something so Strong”
Something so strong
Could carry us away
Something so strong
Could carry us today
Week two is off to an incredible start at Beber!

Today marked the beginning of our second round of hobbies, offering campers the chance to dive into new experiences, build their skills, and make even more connections across camp. As always, our friendly giant flappy man stood proudly in the center of the hobby wheel field, helping direct anyone with questions to the Hobby Director.
One of the things that sets Beber apart is the flexibility and variety in our hobby program. Campers get to try out a new hobby on day one and, if it doesn’t feel like the right fit on the first day, they can switch into something else the next day. With options across every area of camp—arts, athletics, waterfront, outdoor adventure, and more—campers can truly customize their own unique experience. It’s a program rooted in choice, growth, and fun.
I just had to share this accomplishment! Check out the camper podcast from our first week of hobbies! Here's the very first episode, created entirely by our campers. If you can't listen right now, no worries. It’ll be available soon on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Afternoon cabin activities are a special part of the day at Beber. These sessions are designed to strengthen cabin bonds, encourage campers to try new things, and often include meaningful moments of Jewish life.
Today, senior Ramot campers rolled up their sleeves for a delicious and hands-on challah baking activity. I love that our campers can learn this tradition at camp and bring it home to share with their families on future Shabbats.
It was another hot summer day, but the heat eased up just in time for GA, giving everyone a much-needed break from the sun. Tonight’s GA had such a relaxed, joyful energy. Campers have clearly settled in. Whether tossing a frisbee, playing catch, or just lounging with friends, everyone seemed at ease and simply enjoying the moment.
Today’s Meals
Breakfast: Waffles
Lunch: Mac & Cheese with Mozzarella Sticks
Dinner: Brisket on Pretzel Rolls with Curly Fries

A delicious lineup that kept campers full, happy, and ready for all the day’s adventures.
With rain in the forecast, all evening programs moved indoors—but the creativity and energy were off the charts.
Makor jumped into a camp favorite: Night at the Races. Campers got to bet on wacky, counselor-led races, featuring everything from three-legged sprints to wheelbarrow races and whipped cream bubble gum challenges. The room was full of laughter, cheering, and playful competition as campers rooted for their favorite “athletes.”
Kesher took the spotlight with their much-anticipated Talent Show. From singing and dancing to magic tricks and comedy skits, there was no shortage of acts and performances were met with standing “O’vations cheers, shout outs and “oh snaps”! I just love the confidence that exudes when they get offstage to such adoration from their peers.
Ramot stepped into the director’s chair, creating original movie skits in small groups. Campers brainstormed, wrote, and acted out, which were then presented to a panel of “celebrity” judges (aka counselors with clipboards and a lot of flair). The creativity and humor on display made it an unforgettable experience.
PIOs kicked off their night with an immersive team challenge called Mission ImPIOssible, where they had to complete a series of collaborative tasks using critical thinking and communication. They ended the night with their own talent show, showcasing a mix of heartfelt performances and laugh-out-loud moments that highlighted the strong bonds forming in the unit. Thay have a very specialized program that balances activities to build leadership and child care skills and create a fun and safe tight knit community to develop these skills.
Our CIT’s spent their first full day at Rocky Mountain Village Easter Seals Camp where they had the opportunity to connect with the campers that they are going to be working with this week. They wrote and performed a skit to introduce themselves to the camp which was met with applause and laughter. I am so excited to hear about their experience with campers this week allowing them to learn and grow into future staff members.

All in all, it was a packed and joyful day here at camp. With new hobbies starting, memorable meals, and a night full of camper-led magic, week two is already off to a fantastic start. Building these connections and perfecting our skills creates something so strong. I feel carried away every day!
