Financial Aid Application is now online.

Beber Camp is committed to ensuring that no child is denied a Jewish summer experience at Beber Camp, regardless of a family’s financial need. Thank you to our current families, alumni, board, and friends of camp that help us to turn this statement into a reality.

Internal needs-based assistance is available through our scholarship fund, we’ve partnered with the One Happy Camper (Campership) program to provide first-time incentives for parents to choose Jewish camp, and we are committed to making our Pioneer Israel Trip an option for all interested families. Read below for the Beber Financial Aid application and for tools to help make camp more affordable for your family.

The information below pertains to Beber’s internal scholarship process. If you are interested in more information about the One Happy Camper grant or would like access to resources to help make our Israel program a reality for your family, please visit our website.

The Financial Aid Application for the coming summer is currently online. You indicated that you would be applying for financial assistance when you registered for camp this summer. We will be considering families for financial assistance over the next two months in an effort to start any payment plans as early as possible, and I do want to encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. The application is due Friday, December 12, 2014, though we will be doing a first round of allocations prior to Thanksgiving.

There are two parts to the 2015 Financial Aid application: the application itself and your wage and tax information. Clearly, you don’t have your taxes even close to finished for the current year. Through our pre-approval approval process, your can receive a provisional scholarship award that will later be verified by your tax information. We do require your 2013 and 2014 federal income taxes as well as your 2013 and 2014 W-2 (and other relevant wage forms) in order to be considered for our process. This documentation is due March 1, 2015.

After reviewing your submitted tax information, we will firm up your scholarship allocation. We are working hard with our financial aid committee to give awards that, along with community dollars, and flexible payment schedules, meet your family’s needs for attending Beber. As such, it is an expectation that balances are paid in full by the end of the current camp season.

We will be holding two anonymous informational conference calls to walk through the application, decision-making process, and next steps. Due to the sensitive nature of the conversation, all callers will be on mute, though PLEASE do send questions along via email either live or in advance. The calls will take place Monday, October 27th at 12:00 PM and 7:30 PM, CST. Please email joel@bebercamp.com to RSVP and I will send the call-in information. Spaces are limited, so please let me know if you are interested.

To access the application, click through to the online application. The application is only available online and you can save your work and return later. Be sure to click the “save” button at the bottom right of each page to ensure your progress isn’t lost. There is an FAQ of sorts on the first page so you can ensure you have everything you need to begin.

To upload your wage and tax information, click through to the secure document uploader. Alternatively, please send your wage and tax information to the Skokie office via registered mail, FedEx, or UPS. DO NOT email us your documents as this is not a secure method of transferring personal data.

More information about the One Happy Camper first-time incentive and Israel Trip scholarships are available on our website.

We look forward to being partners with your family throughout this process and as we prepare for the upcoming summer. Please do not hesitate to be in touch with any specific questions (847-677-7130) or if you’d like us to walk your family through the process. We’re happy to help!
