Speciality Programs

Throughout each week and each session, Beber offers amazing, fun specialty programs for our campers. These creative activities facilitate community bonding at all levels and provide a unique, spectacular experience for our campers.

Maccabiah

Maccabiah (or Color War) is a 40 year old tradition at Beber Camp and it is a truly unique experience! Maccabiah is one day of ridiculous FUN, in which the entire camp is split into 4 teams – Red, Yellow, Green and Blue. The four teams participate in an amazing array of activities with one team crowned as the overall winner of Maccabiah.

Campers are assigned to a team for life and the ruach (Hebrew for spirit) of the day is something to behold! Whether an athletic event or a leading a cheer, the camp bonding experience is very important and we value teamwork and sportsmanship during this time. Beber Camp Maccabiah gives every camper a chance to shine.

Artist in Residence

Our artist in residence program is an ongoing tradition and vital piece of the our overall Beber Camp experience. It engages primarily Jewish professionals in the community who are doing amazing things and connects them with our campers during the summer. Our goal is to foster Jewish continuity and leadership through the introduction of high level skilled roles models in an informal Jewish setting. By exposing our campers to a wide variety of Jewish professionals, we are providing the opportunity for our campers to see how adults incorporate Judaism into their lives on all levels. Programs have included music, arts, drama, creative writing, sports, yoga, outdoor education and leadership training.

Out of Camp Trips

Out of camp trips are an exciting part of the overall program and are a highlight of the summer experience at Beber Camp. The entire camp visits places like the Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee Brewers Game, Bristol Renaissance Faire, water parks in the Wisconsin Dells and of course, the Elegant Farmer.

Camping Trips

We passionately believe that outdoor living skills and getting back to nature are important parts of the Beber Camp experience. All Beber campers participate in age appropriate overnights and camping trips.

  • The Makor division spends a night on our own beautiful campsite, which is the perfect way to experience cooking over an open fire and sleeping in a tent with your friends!
  • Kesher and Ramot campers participate in a 3 day/2 night camping trip and choose from speciality trips such as fishing, climbing, backpacking, birding, biking, canoeing and fine arts.
  • The Pioneer and CIT teen leadership programs both includes multi-day camping trips combining camping, hiking, outdoor leadership training and volunteer work.
