Hey Beber Camp!

My name is Jared Freedland and I am PUMPED to be this summer’s Athletics Area Director! This will be my first year in the position, but my 3rd on staff. In the past, I have been a running specialist, a fitness specialist, and a Cornerstone Fellow. This summer will also be my 10th summer at camp!

I am about to finish up my sophomore year at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, majoring in business management and minoring in hospitality. One day, I hope to become a CEO of a major gym corporation and also work as a personal trainer on the base level. I am originally from Jupiter, Florida, about 30 minutes north of West Palm Beach, Florida. At school, I am a resident assistant, certified personal trainer, involved with Dance Marathon, and I run with my schools running team. I am also currently training for my first full marathon.

Beber Camp has shaped my life and turned me into the person I am today. When I was a camper, I chose athletic hobbies to push myself to become a better athlete and to push myself to get up and try again, even if I didn’t win the sport I was playing. I hope that with my two years of experience as an athletics specialist, I will be able to lead my team to success and continue to give campers an amazing summer. I also hope to inspire campers and staff to be the best they can be and get out of their comfort zone, whether it is trying a new sport or finally winning a tennis match! Above all, I want everyone, campers and counselors, to have as much fun as they can this summer. I am counting down the days till camp starts and I cannot wait to kick off the summer!

Get excited for summer 2019!!!

Lo-He-Ha,
Jared
