Hey everyone!

My name is Brandon Emalfarb, and I’m thrilled to be the Kesher Division Leader this summer! I’m currently in my junior year of college, studying accounting and Jewish studies at Yeshiva University in New York City. This will be my 11th summer at Beber, and I can’t think of a better way to have spent so many of my summers. Last summer, I was one of the CIT directors, training and teaching our wonderful counselors-in-training to become future staff members, and in the summers of 2015 and 2016, I was a Yad B’ Yad specialist, working with some of our campers and assisted staff members with disabilities. Kesher is one of my all-time favorite divisions, and I could not be more excited and honored to be able to work with Kesher campers and staff this summer! As a camper, I made lifelong friendships during my Kesher years and tried new activities that I still enjoy doing to this day. I learned how to waterski in Kesher, and I am now even able to slalom after all of these years of practicing. Kesher is also the first time that campers are able to participate in three day trips! Trips range from canoeing, climbing, fine arts, and more (canoeing is my favorite!). These three-day trips offer unique opportunities for campers to gain outdoor educational skills, and it was on one of my many three-day trips that I learned how to properly setup and take down a tent. Kesher is filled with many incredible opportunities to have a productive, safe, and fun summer, and I challenge all campers to try something new this summer to make this summer the best one yet. Whether it being signing up for a new hobby, making a new friend, or even trying a new food, the possibilities are endless, and I cannot wait to be there with you all this summer every step of the way!

Looking forward to an amazing summer filled with new experiences!
