Hi! My name is Sami Weinberg and I am one of the Pioneer leaders this summer! I am currently a sophomore at the University of Vermont studying elementary education. I am so beyond excited to spend my 11th summer at camp! Every summer, I choose to come back and spend my entire summer at my favorite place on earth.  I have found a family at Beber and I love seeing them year after year. I started in O3 in 2008, and after being in a cabin with every person my age, I am proud to have not missed a year.

My favorite memory happened while on my Pioneer trip in 2014. Due to circumstances in Israel that summer, the trip was unfortunately cancelled. However, instead of cutting our summer short, camp spent intersession planning an East Coast bus trip. We spent our second Shabbat in Washington, D.C. My favorite camp memory was celebrating Havdalah that week at the Lincoln Memorial. I never felt closer to my fellow Pios, and it was a shared experience that bonded us even further.

If I had any advice to new campers, it would be: be open to new experiences. You never know who you may meet, it might be your best friend! You never know what you might try, but it is worth it to step out of your comfort zone. You never know what will come your way.
