Hi friends,

Marc Altman here, Beber’s [cue hundreds of yelling campers] Director of Sustainability and Engagement.  Michael Wax and I are back from another great weekend celebrating Beber’s 40th birthday, this time in Louisville!

Louisville 40th Birthday

The weekend started with a fantastic fundraiser Saturday night.  Dozens of parents and alumni joined us to support Beber’s Scholarship Fund by raising over $1,500!  We celebrated Beber’s loooooonnng history in Louisville by hearing how it all started (courtesy of Margie Kohn, video below), listening to Beber’s very own Hunter Borowick perform with special guest Leigh Ann Yost (video below), enjoying a delicious birthday cake from Desserts by Helen and doughnuts from Beber-alumni-owned Hi-Five Doughnuts, and drinking a variety of spirits generously donated by Heaven Hill Brands.

Many thanks to the dedicated committee for pulling together an amazing event.  Jen Tuvlin, Kate Latts, Linda Schuster, Bobby Bornstein, Caren (Carney) Bailen — you rock!

We continued our Louisville celebrations on Sunday at Kingpin Lanes.  Campers of all ages — from first time 7 year-olds to veteran soon-to-be-counselors — had a blast bowling, snacking, and catching up with friends.  Older campers provided invaluable feedback for Beber’s Master Site Plan, and the younger kids experienced a Michael “Physician of Fun” Wax original Crazy Bowling adventure.

All told, the Beber Louisville community clearly showed why it has been a key part of camp for four decades.  We look forward to another 40 years of Beber in Louisville!

Denver — we’ll see you next month!

Marc.
