CITs!

About the CIT Program

CIT stands for Counselor In Training and is the second year of Beber’s two-year counselor training program, after Pioneers. The CIT program teaches counselor skills for use at camp, including childcare, programming, and leadership. Skills are taught through creative and dynamic workshops, group discussions, and hands-on practice. CITs are role models for other campers at camp, leading exciting activities, energetically planning programs, and setting an example with their actions and behavior.

A selection process exists in order to help the program accomplish these goals.  Potential CITs must submit an application and be accepted into the program.

More than 60% of our counseling staff are graduates of the CIT program.

2009 Dates and Commitment
June 21st - August 14th
CITs come to camp for Session I and Session II, a total of 8 weeks.

The CIT program involves a full commitment from each participant. Attendance is required for the entire eight weeks unless there are extenuating circumstances. If you’re interested in the program but feel that you may have a conflict, please contact us to discuss it.
